Dental Implants

A permanent solution to replace lost teeth. A biocompatible post is inserted into the jawbone, and a prosthetic tooth is attached after healing. Restores function, aesthetics, and oral health without harming adjacent teeth. A long-lasting, natural-feeling option for tooth loss treatment.

ADVANTAGES OF IMPLANTS

• Dental implants are used to replace missing teeth permanently and naturally.

• They provide a stable, long-term solution that restores your ability to chew, speak, and smile confidently.

• Implants also prevent bone loss and maintain oral health.

• Unlike removable dentures, implants feel and function like natural teeth, improving your overall quality of life.

Anatomy

Infrastructure:

The foundation of the implant system, consisting of the surgically placed implant screw called the “fixture” and the post known as the “abutment,” securely embedded in the jawbone.

Mesostructure:

The intermediate structure of the implant system. It facilitates the connection between the infrastructure and superstructure, commonly found in bar-retained overdenture-type prostheses on implants.

Superstructure:

The upper structure of the implant system, representing the prosthesis placed on top of the implant.

Implant Procedure Process

1st Visit

The first visit is the beginning of the implant procedure. Our dentists thoroughly examine your jaw bones and teeth to determine where to place the implant. At this stage, x-rays are taken and planning for the placement of the implant begins. The details of the operation and the location of the implant are discussed with the patients. Once the treatment is approved, surgery is performed

Healing
Period

Following the surgical placement of the implant, the healing period commences. During this time, the jawbone accepts the implant, and the implant fuses securely with the bone. This period typically lasts for a few months. The healing period is critical for the implant to integrate firmly with the jawbone.

2nd Visit

The second visit occurs after the completion of the healing period, and it’s the stage where the prosthesis or crown will be placed. The dentist attaches a specially designed prosthesis onto the implant. This prosthesis replaces missing teeth and provides functional biting and an aesthetically pleasing smile. The second visit is usually the final stage of the implant procedure and allows you to see the results.

This process encompasses the fundamental steps of implant treatment and can be tailored to each patient. Your dentist will create the best treatment plan for you and guide you through each stage of the process.

Dental implants can be applied to any patient over the age of 18 who is in good general health. However, some health reports may be requested from patients with systemic diseases. The general condition of your mouth is evaluated and the quantity and quality of bone is looked at to see if dental implants are an appropriate treatment. Radiographs of the area are examined, which are an indicator of the amount of bone available for implant placement.

Dental implants are usually placed very gently into the bone under local anesthesia. Following this, you may experience some discomfort in the mouth and mild facial swelling for a few days. However, after a short time, the tissues return to their previous state.

The procedure is relatively simple and can usually be done under local anesthesia. It takes approximately 15 minutes to place one implant. You will be given painkillers to relieve any pain you may experience after surgery. However, overall most patients report that the procedure is not really painful at all, certainly much less than expected.
